HAVEN is an independent music venue in the heart of Pittsburgh’s Oakland neighborhood. The venue is operated by Post Genre a Pittsburgh-based organization dedicated to enriching the local community through concerts, event production training, workshops, and more.

Oakland has musical roots

Once the heart of music in Pittsburgh, Oakland’s vibrant music scene was pushed underground after a wave of venue closures in the early 2000’s. Although these venues left Oakland, the borough’s passion for local music perservered.

Why Haven?

The opening of HAVEN brings an end to the two-decade long absence of permanent music venues in Oakland, and represents a culmination of the community-driven creative energy that has sustained the neighborhood’s music scene for the last twenty years. The venue will serve as a home (or haven) for musicians, artists, and audiences to come together, providing a secure, professional, and sustainable environment for concerts and other live events in Pittsburgh’s most populated borough.

Starting this Spring, PG Studios will offer a smart rehearsal studio in HAVEN that will provide musicians with a convenient, professional, and affordable environment to rehearse, record, and create. Our space includes a full instrument and sound backline, a digital mixing board, and multi track recording capabilities.

HAVEN is also available for private event rentals including formals, conferences, meetings, and special performances. The space is equipped with professional audio and lighting systems, tables, and chairs.
